As we walked around, we got to talking about past lives and the inexplicable draw we feel towards certain times, places, cultures, and interests. Neither of us are sold on the idea of reincarnation, but we've both experienced the compelling force of our imagination as we've tried to figure it all out. For me, I've always felt that I was born in a much too extroverted century. To a fault, I'm very still, reserved, and prone to obsessing over paradox and mystery, lamenting that I wasn't born in more of a thinking man's time. As we walked around the farmland, my feeling grew stronger. It's not that I'm ungrateful for the excitement and convenience of this era, but I easily get lost in the shuffle.
It's good to return to the simplicity of spanning time.
