Who killed my gas-guzzling motor transport?

January 08, 2007

A few days ago, I noticed the friendly thermostat light begin to blink in the dash of my car. With every blink, I was silently willing it to stop.

Blink.

Stop it.

BLINK.

Stop!

BLINK YOU.

Gah! Stop eeeet!

This morning, I went to the shop. The news was grim. Terminal, if you will. The car is worth $591.47. The repair to my failing radiator, hose leak, and general fluid flush will cost $650.

And I'm standing in front of Mr. Mumbles the Mechanic with the whirring sound of junkyard battle happening in the garage and I'm all, "Whaaaat? For reals? $6.50?"

And he's all, "Mumblerumble, $650."

And I'm all, "$6.50 for aaaall of that?"

-Wait for it- -Wait for it-

"...oh. $650. Yeah, no."

I'm having problems with my car too. It sucks, and right now I'm not feeling able to joke about it the way you just did. You're brilliant, and I'm loving your blog every day a bit more xxx
