This is LA

June 08, 2006

Last night, we attended a film screening of Look, Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman, which is a documentary film that Kevin edited earlier this year. Really good movie - regardless of if you're a Superman fan or not. My favorite part? The editing. Hello.

But because Bryan Singer was an executive producer, there was a little of the celebrity thing happening. Actors from Superman Returns were there, including Brandon Routh. Now, Kevin really wanted to talk with the new Supes, mainly because they're both from Iowa. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a mob around him, so we didn't make an approach...otherwise, I had a camera stashed in my purse - and I totally would've inflicted the world with photos of us at a fancy Hollywood shindig. Again.

Now, two weeks ago, Kevin and I were eating in a sushi restaurant down the street, and as we were getting up to leave, four people come up to our table and start gushing...We LOVED your new film, man! You were so great. This being LA, and Kevin having just finished the Superman doc, I thought these were some of his buddies from work, giving him a hard time. But he was as confused as I was. As the people carried on, they quickly revealed they thought Kevin was Todd Louiso, from Thank you for Smoking.

The people were so embarrassed they swarmed the wrong guy, that they then gushed for another five minutes about how Kevin TOTALLY doesn't look like Todd. How OBVIOUSLY wrong they were. How CLEARLY different the two guys look. Um. Don't let the glasses, low resolution, and bad lighting fool you. These dudes? Totally separated at birth.

You know what else is kind of funny? Our new favorite bartender, Morgan looks *just* like Kevin. I'm going to see if he'll let me take his photo and if so I'll send it to you. It's crazy.
