So, the wedding was about a ninety minute drive away. We weighed the options of staying in a hotel vs. driving - and since we have such a kickass hybrid car, it was quite economical to just drive back and forth from the rehearsal on Thursday, AND the wedding on Friday.
However, the down side is that each time we drove down to the church, we had to burn about an hour before everyone else showed up because traffic was uncharacteristically light. (You ask, Whaaa?? Traffic is light in Los Angeles? I KNOW. That's what I said.) With time to kill, we attacked an adorable little strip mall across from the church and found ourselves pounding down the sushi and Starbucks. There was something so completely wonderful to be all fancy in our wedding attire, and eating food with our hands and two sticks.
One of us posed like a lady with her miso for the oddly-angled lens.

The other was selling some razzle-dazzle soy sauce. It cleans the blood! It brightens the eye! It makes the old, young again!

What these photos illustrate is that sometimes - when you can't be what you're not - you MARRY what you're not. In this case, I can vicariously mock soy-products, and Kevin can leave the house, wearing THAT hairdo. This, people, is yin and yang. It's what all the great love songs are written about. It's a tremendous gift from an otherwise unrelenting Universe.

Congratulations, Kurt and Christine. We love you. May you photograph better in sushi bars than the rest of us.
