DELIGHT #01: For about a half hour in the morning, I like to blast the space heater at my feet, while opening the studio window WIIIIIIDE, to circulate the crisp air and chirpy bird songs. It's absolute, utter, unmistakable bliss. After about a half hour, I start to feel guilty for the futile use of space heater electricity, so I turn it off and toss on a sweater...imagining what Kevin would say. (Yeah. I know what he'd say. He'd be, all, One or the other, Boo. One or the other.)
DELIGHT #02: I also have an especially keen obsession with the avant-garde performance ensemble Empire of Teeth. They are so uncomfortably strange, I just want to lick them. Or maybe nibble on their glitter. Or, perhaps restrain myself and just steal a stage prop and worship it on an altar made of psychedelic mushrooms. Yeah. So good.
DELIGHT #03: I'm currently fixated on a CD called "Awakened Mind System 2.0 - Enhance Creativity, Sharpen Clarity and Focus, Draw on Your Wisdom". It's like what my brain sounds like, if I could hook a microphone up to it and amplify the sound. No humpback whales, though. So, this one may disappoint you.
DELIGHT #04: Kevin and I decided a while ago, that we would entertain friends every weekend - kinda like that fantasy I have. So, for the past six weeks or so, we've invited friends over for an evening of homemade food (FOOD!) and candle-lit conversation. It's proved to be a wonderful experience, wherein we get entangled in interesting discussion. The dishes afterwards are something like a hangover, but I would still highly recommend trying something similar, if you can.
DELIGHT #05: I like to use the word Clockwork. The snap of those syllables, alone, makes any sentence better. Even if the sentence makes no sense. For example, you could say, "I was driving to Ventura, and the clockwork was just tremendous." "We ended up laughing over clockwork and jellybeans." "Clockwork drooled out of every pore." See what I mean? Clockwork totally jazzes up any sentence. Like a cute Louis Vuitton bag.
