So. Today is the day. The day that marks the mixing of the last song. Two weeks later than the rest, but just as loved. So excited.
Today also marks the first day of a small amount of freedom. Since the holidays, I've been trying to get together with my dad for dinner...and to shop for his Christmas present to me! What did I ask for? I asked for a guitar. Part of me wants to be a string plucker...or strummer...depending on what my 6-string talent turns out to be. So tonight we'll find out.
Also, I made Katie a mixed CD for her birthday (which I haven't given her yet, though her birthday was nearly a week ago) and it's filled with all these songs I wish I'd written. It's depressing and inspiring all at once. There are SO MANY DAMN GOOD SONGWRITERS.
And on a completely random subject...this morning as I was driving out to see Katie for our weekly breakfast, I had the passing thought..."hmm. I should take out the trash can while it's sunny. Nah. I'll wait 'til I get home." And now. Of course. It's raining like mad. And I'm way too lazy to lug it out of the mud and into the street.
And to complete the most non-cohesive post ever, I have a new web server!!! Expect message boards! Newsletters! New layouts! Why does February have to be the shortest month ever? Doesn' t it know I need more time? Well, that's a complaint for another time.
