After about a week of travels, we are back home. Not only did we visit various US cities, but it felt like we visited various seasons as well.
In LA, it's just like a dry, hot oven. Out in Atlanta, you can have a boiling ocean with that oven. And then up in Cambria, CA you'd better prepare for a crisp Fall afternoon. All in all, it felt like we had Summer, Autumn, and Spring all rolled into one week. And I'm quite tired, thank you.
I made a pact with myself: no music worries or listening for the whole vacation. It's been helpful to clear my brain, definitely. But now I'm ready to ramp back up on the album.
Kevin spent earlier this week (in the 12 hour stretch we were actually home) setting up my NEW new studio. Whereas I was producing in MY studio and mixing in HIS studio, I can now do it all in my own little sweat box. Of course, I haven't TRIED it yet. But maybe I'll work on it this afternoon as Kevin's sleeping. I'm so sun-fried, though. All I really want to do is sleep too.
Oh. And as we were driving home from up North, we stopped in Solvang for lunch. (For those who don't know, Solvang is a goofy touristy Danish village that is randomly set in California - not too far from Santa Barbara.) Anyhow, I ordered Schnitzel cuz I like the word. Hello. That was gross. I've been feeling it try to walk out of my stomach for the last 3 hours. Did anyone else know it was fatty fried pork? With bernaise sauce? I was expecting noodles or something. I guess it's not as bad as Kevin's sandwich with liver paste and beef gelatin.
And, with that lovely thought, I shall leave you now.
xo
