Aron's Records had their big parking lot sale this weekend. It was my first experience at this phenominal guilt-inducing feast. We bought 24 albums for $27. It's a horrible non-contribution to the livlihood of artistry, I know. But I took risks on albums I would never have purchased - and now I'm becoming a new fan of several artists. That's how I justify my gluttony.
I was half-expecting to see a throwaway 25 cent copy of To the Bone somewhere in the mix. Don't know if I was relieved or disappointed that I didn't. :-)
Another upside of this whole musical banquet is that I'm listening to these new sounds and feeling inspired and relieved to be in the company of so many artists. It's encouraging. It's got me excited.
Hmm. We also saw Danny Bonaduce last night at a Sushi bar in Calabasas. As we were seated next to his table, all we heard was his LOUD, grating voice. Kevin asked to be moved to the opposite side of the room. Once we were safely seated 25 feet away, I looked over and saw who it was. We had a laugh...and listened to him talk LOUDLY throughout our whole meal. Famous people are weird.
And, yes, I realize this journal really has nothing to do with Entropy 29. But it's the weekend, dammit. I want to talk about something else.
