I don't know why the title of this next album is so important to me. For All Girl Band and To the Bone, I didn't know the names. That really made it hard in a lot of ways to work with the personality of the songs. So I decided this one should have a name while I'm still incubating.
I've come up with lots of names, but these were the best..."The Tie that Binds", "Visiting Ghosts", and "Entropy 29".
Well, once I wrote Entropy 29, I knew that was the one. I was listening to Mia Doi Todd (Gravity) and the first line was "Gravity and entropy have it out inside of me". I've always loved the word. And it describes where I'm coming from here.
For people who don't have (3 of X), you might not know that I recently reconciled with my dad after about 6 years of estrangement. That sparked a lot of these feelings I have to reconnect with a life that sometimes feels splintered and confused. That's what I'm striving for on this album. Even though I'm fairly certain the album will be finished this summer, I'm still in the throes of writing because it seems that I have entirely too much to say.
